Director, Library Science
Minimum Requirements:
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in library science.
• Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in the field of library science, three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of:
• standard library principles and practices.
• digital library services and procedures.
• the utilization of technology to deliver and enhance library service.
• budgetary practices and procedures.
• guide and channel resources, ideas and recommendations for problem solution and program refinement.
• provide leadership in the implementation of best practices in library administration.
• measure and evaluate the effectiveness of library services against defined goals and objectives.
• keep informed of current developments in library management and technology.
• ensure that library materials meet the needs of a diverse District.
• effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
• establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Certificates/Licenses:
• Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate for Supervisor, Library Science PK - 12
