Minimum Requirements

·  Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, educational administration or a related field.

·  Seven years of full-time, paid, educational experience, at least three of which have been in a school-based administrative or supervisory capacity.

·  Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility or Commission Qualification Letter.

NOTE: An applicant who does not meet the minimum education or work experience requirements listed above may be considered if, at the sole discretion of the Talent Office, they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicates potential for success in this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of:

o   educational leadership, policy, and best practices in school organization and management.

o   current principles, practices, and procedures of operations, management, and organization.

o   effective school operations, staff development, and performance evaluation.

o   interpreting data to inform strategic decisions and evaluate program effectiveness.

o   principles and techniques related to strategies to increase the efficiency of operations.

o   supervisory methods, leading change, and techniques.

Demonstrated skill in:

o   addressing matters of equity, race, and bias in decision-making with respect, and honesty.

o   planning, organization, and project management.

Demonstrated ability to:

o    lead and implement broad-based initiatives and programs.

o    initiate and direct strategic planning activities.

o    identify numerous dependencies and develop a comprehensive, technical plan of action.

o    plan, coordinate, and direct the activities of a large staff.

o    analyze and resolve complex problems, make cogent recommendations, and effectively summarize and present data.

o    handle a crisis in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

o    express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.

o    establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside of the District.
