Job Summary

Oversees school/community based or departmental programs and activities for the assigned office. Plans and implements new and innovative approaches for academic support or departmental operations through programmatic systems, intervention sequences, preventative activities or multi-disciplinary safety and multi-tiered systems of support for schools. Ensures all programmatic activities are implemented with fidelity and that the programs are in compliance with School District policies and procedures and grant stipulations or Act 89 and Title I and II guidelines.

Essential Functions

For the Student Health Services - HIV/STD Prevention Program Specialty

  •     Supports the Program Manager in the planning, development, and implementation of program activities related to sexual health education, sexual health services, and safe and supportive environments.
  •  Conducts program outreach in schools and throughout the District.
  •  Maintains communication with internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated program approach.
  •  Provides support and technical assistance to school staff on implementing program activities.
  •  Prepares materials and resources for distribution.
  •  Completes contracts with outside providers to enable them to provide the services.
  •  Creates and manage communication platforms (such as newsletters, social media, and websites.)
  •  Supports data collection, record keeping, and compliance measures as they relate to program activities.
  •  Prepares a variety of reports and presentations.
  •  Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

 Three years of full-time, paid, professional experience in education which has included working with programs in urban schools which support students’ academic, social and emotional needs and has involved managing budgets, developing contracts and managing external community-based resources.

OR

 Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social policy.

 Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in education which has included working with programs in urban schools which support students’ academic, social and emotional needs and has involved managing budgets, developing contracts and managing external community-based resources.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 Demonstrated knowledge of the following:

o   administrative and budgetary practices and procedures.

o   the current methods, processes and techniques utilized in the implementation of program initiatives. o the methods used to develop contracts and manage external resources.

 Ability to:

o   assess the effectiveness of programmatic activities and to make recommendations for modifications as needed.

o   conduct research and analyze data. o maintain records and prepare reports. o develop and facilitate presentations. o use a personal computer. o communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

o   establish and maintain effective working relationships.
