Job Summary
The Assistant Director of I.T. Apprenticeships is a key member of the Urban Technology Project’s (UTP) management team. This role oversees project management systems, communications, and data tracking; special events and marketing efforts. The Assistant Director manages apprentice registration and completion; drives alumni engagement, supports training and supervises interns to advance the program’s mission of developing the next generation of technology professionals.

Essential Functions
• Manages and optimizes the program’s project management platform (Monday.com) to increase efficiency and collaboration across the team.
• Manages UTP social media accounts and maintain the UTP website to ensure timely updates and consistent messaging.
• Maintains UTP’s internal Google site and other communication tools to support clear and effective information sharing.
• Manages Apprentice registration, track progress and exits, and support certification and completion outcomes.
• Develops and leads strategies to engage and support UTP alumni.
• Coordinates training logistics and plan program events, ensuring smooth execution.
• Creates marketing materials to promote programs and initiatives.
• Updates, distributes, and tracks program surveys; analyzes and summarizes program data for reporting and decision making.
• Attends meetings and events on behalf of UTP, serving as a program ambassador.
• Supervises 1-2 interns or VISTA members, providing guidance and feedback.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from at an accredited college or university.
• Five years of full-time, paid, professional experience in apprenticeship, work-based learning or a related field which has involved working in an educational setting, non-profit organization or governmental agency and has included working with community or corporate partners to support apprenticeship or work-based learning, at least two of which shall have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of:
o apprenticeships and workforce development strategies, best practices and trends.
o Google applications, Canva, WordPress, Social Media, and Project Management or similar tools.
o industry recognized technology certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to
o manage several large-scale projects concurrently.
o manage complex projects using tools such as Monday.com or similar platforms.
o track and evaluate program data, performance metrics, and evaluations related to workforce outcomes.
o provide direct support to adult learners to earn industry certifications.
o manage social media, update website, and use internal communication tools (e.g. Google chat, Google site).
o plan and execute events (e.g. graduation, service projects, career events).
o communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
o establish and maintain effective working relationships.
