Title: Strategy Analyst II (Opportunity Network)

Job Summary 

  • Reports, verifies and maintains operational results for the assigned department.
  • Supports departmental operations and identifies opportunities to maximize efficiencies.
  • Prioritizes and pursues the highest impact strategies.
  • Develops solutions to requests, collects, and summarizes performance data for the assigned department.
  • Manages data, performs analysis, generate reports and builds processes and procedures.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Conducts important research and analysis on various topics.
  • Evaluates and adjusts strategies based on data.

Opportunity Network Specialty 

  • Supports the Opportunity Network team and contract providers in understanding student-level and  program data, District information systems, and third party assessment data; provides on-site  training and support to providers as necessary.
  • Provides technical assistance, on-site training and ongoing support to contracted providers regarding data use, integrity and management as necessary.
  • Works with District Performance Office to validate source data for Alternative Education Progress Reports (AEPRs) and metrics for evaluation of contract performance.
  • Assists with the implementation of key initiatives in the Opportunity Network.
  • Analyzes and reviews enrollment, attendance, climate and academic performance data on an ongoing basis; validates data and works with team members to resolve issues.
  • Creates data visualizations for internal and external use; conducts network data analyses and prepares analytical data reports upon request.
  • Develops and supports systems and tools for operational processes aligned with the needs of the team and contracted programs.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis and identifies key trends that assist team and contracted programs with data-driven decisions leading to improving overall program performance and student outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 
  • Three years of full-time, paid, professional experience which has included project management, policy operations, operations, administration or research which has included working in education  or a related field with responsibilities including data management, analysis of data and report  development. 

OR

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. 
  • Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience which has included project management, policy operations, operations, administration or research which has included working in education or a related field with responsibilities including data management, analysis of data and report development.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Process improvement and the methods utilized to implement systemic change.
  • The principles, practices, and procedures underlying strategic planning. 

Demonstrated ability to:

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, as evidenced by an ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong, effective working relationships across all levels of an  organization.
  • Identify and break down complex problems and develop strategies to address the  identified issues based on quantitative and/or qualitative evidence. 
  • Understand, interpret, and analyze a variety of data sources. 
  • Design and develop systems, tools, and schedules for collecting, maintaining, and  reporting on performance data. 
  • Adapt to different situations, particularly when new information is provided.
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.  
  • Use MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
