Job Summary
Routine stores work at the full performance level. Receives, stores, and issues supplies, materials, and equipment at departmental or central locations.
Essential Functions
• Receives supplies; stores stock in an orderly and efficient manner; distributes supplies and equipment; packs, unpacks, counts, weighs and measures materials, supplies and equipment; returns supplies and equipment no longer needed or delivered in error.
• Checks materials received against invoices and notes breakage and/or discrepancies in quantity; keeps inventory of stock received and issued; fills requisitions; records transactions and assists in making reports; assists in maintenance of perpetual records.
• May provide assistance and/or direction to other employees engaged in receiving, storing, distributing, and caring for materials and supplies; may supervise order picking and loading of trucks to make deliveries.
• Maintains storeroom, or sections thereof in central locations; maintains equipment and supplies in compliance with safety and insurance regulations; keeps storage facilities, warehouse and equipment in a neat, clean and orderly condition.
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience receiving, storing, and issuing goods.
OR
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
o storekeeping methods and procedures.
o a variety of materials and supplies.
Demonstrated ability to:
o make varied arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy.
o maintain varied inventory and stores records.
o lift and move heavy objects.
o carry out oral and written instructions.
o communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
