Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of full-time, paid experience in administrative support of electronic claiming processes involving Batch 837 claiming and review of records to ensure requests for medical reimbursements and health services comply with program guidelines.
OR
- Five years of full-time, paid experience as a Mental/Behavioral Health Billing Representative with Batch 837, CPT and ICD-10 coding and CBH experience.
OR
- A combination of Health Claim experience determined to be acceptable by SDP to fill this school based process.
- All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- CPT and ICD-10 coding
- Batch 837 and electronic claim submissions
- standard customer service practices and procedures.
- the methods and techniques for effective program administration.
- administrative and budgetary practices and procedures.
- mental health/behavioral health forms, preferred.
- medical terminology, preferred.
- IBHS procedures, preferred.
- Ability to:
- evaluate program effectiveness and to recommend necessary change.
- implement administrative procedures in accordance with program guidelines.
- learn procedures pertaining to the STEP program.
- develop and implement in-service training programs.
- maintain records and prepare reports.
- operate a personal computer.
- express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, regional and school-based staff, and third party providers.
