Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
• Three years of full-time paid, real estate experience buying, selling, leasing or appraise
real property, which has included negotiating and concluding sales, purchases, and
leasing transactions, one year of which has involved inspecting facilities for adherence
to various governmental codes.
OR
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable
by the Office of Human Resources.
Certificates/Licenses
• Possession of a proper class license valid to operate a motor vehicle in the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to appointment and during tenure of employment
as a Real Property Management Specialist.
NOTE: An applicant who does not meet the minimum education or work experience requirements listed above may be considered if, at the sole discretion of the Talent Office, they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicates potential for success in this role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
o the principles, practices and techniques of leasing and purchasing real property.
o the methods, practices and techniques used to negotiate and conclude leasing
transactions.
o building and fire codes and related ordinances and regulations as they apply to
the inspection of facilities.
o the applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements relating
to land title work and real estate transaction.
o inspection methods and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to:
o effectively negotiate with property owners for the lease or acquisition of real
property.
o conduct inspections and enforce codes, ordinances and regulations firmly and
tactfully.
o oversee and review functions of technical and clerical staff.
o express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
o maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
o establish and maintain effective working relationships.
