This is a full-time 10-month, PFT represented position. The salary grade is 1508 which starts at $24,703 for new PFT members.

Job Summary
Performs general maintenance and cleaning tasks at multiples centers as assigned. Uses a variety of cleaning materials and agents to clean classroom, kitchen, and bathroom areas on a regular basis. Performs simple repair and maintenance work on tables, chairs, toys and children’s furniture as needed.
Essential Functions
• Visits multiple centers as assigned; washes cots, toys, puzzles, children’s furniture, cubbies, shelves, paper towel holders, wall telephones and window sills. • Cleans kitchen areas and bathrooms.
• Makes simple repairs to tables, chairs, toys and children’s furniture.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
NOTE: Employees must be the parent of a child currently or former enrolled in the Prekindergarten Head Start Program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
o general maintenance principles.
o materials, methods, and practices used in cleaning.
Demonstrated ability to:
o perform minor equipment repairs.
o perform a variety of manual tasks.
o maintain equipment in a safe and clean condition.
o follow oral and written instructions.
o establish and maintain effective working relationships.
