Job Summary
Directs and oversees through subordinate administrators, the activities of staff who develop and coordinate an operations program for the assigned department. Ensures that the operations support the educational mission of the School District. For the Family and Community Engagement specialty, directs and oversees through subordinate administrators, the activities of staff who support partnerships among schools, families and communities and strive to engage and inform parent leaders and families as essential partners in helping students achieve academic proficiency and college and career readiness. For the Student Support Services specialty, oversees the operations of multiple departments in Student Support Services. For the Facilities Planning Process specialty, directs and coordinates all planning activities related to school facility utilization including enrollment forecasting, developing housing plans for students affected by school closures and rezoning, programming long-term facilities needs and strategic planning.
Essential Functions
- Fosters a culture of personal accountability, service and support.
- Plans, organizes and directs through subordinate administrators, a large staff comprised of professional employees engaged in a wide variety of family and community engagement activities.
- Develops and coordinates an operations program for the assigned area; establishes policy and program goals designed to ensure needed services; reviews and approves plans and programs for implementing policies; holds conferences with subordinate staff.
- Resolves the most complex operational problems; indicates areas of improvement and suggests methods of approach for subordinate staff.
- Ensures compliance with governmental regulations governing the operation of the family and community engagement programs.
- Prepares and assists with managing the budget for family and community engagement. ∙ Keeps abreast of the latest developments in the operation of programs for family and community engagement.
- Develops a strategic plan for family and community engagement.
- Develops a performance evaluation metrics for monthly review and accountability. ∙ Leads key projects, including the business side of technology projects for improvement of service delivery.
- Develops and manages a family and community engagement program that is based on objective, equitable, academic support and transparent services.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Ten years of full-time, paid, professional operations experience, five of which has been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and has included responsibility for family and community engagement.

- Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
