Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in education, three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and have involved implementing instructional strategies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- curriculum development and implementation and instructional strategies related to curriculum, content and problem-solving.
- the principles, practices and methods of education in Literacy or Mathematics, Science Social Studies or Dual Language/English Language Learners.
- a variety of pedagogical modalities.
- research related to the field of expertise.
- educational administration
- supervisory methods and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- apply research to practice.
- oversee and review benchmark test content and design.
- plan and administer strategies for effective system wide staff development.
- communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Certificates/Licenses
Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies Specialties
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate for K-12 or Elementary and Secondary Principal or
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate to supervise reading for the literacy specialty or
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate to supervise math for the math specialty or
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate to supervise science for the science specialty or
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate to supervise social studies for the social studies specialty.
Dual Language
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate for K-12 Principal and ESL Program Specialist or
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate to supervise foreign language.
