This is a full-time, non-represented role.  The salary grade for this position is 4026.  The starting salary for this salary grade is $65,314, and the final salary will be determined by our Classification and Compensation team based on the full-time related work experience of the candidate. 

This Senior Recruiter will be managing the hiring of three crucial roles to the success of schools: Principal, Assistant Principal, and Assistant Superintendent.  This position is equal parts recruiter (building pipelines, engaging with university partners, executing exciting events) and selector (screening candidate resumes, phone interviews, and executing selection days to build school leadership pools).  We are looking for a dynamic people-person with an attention to detail to lead this work.

This full-time role comes with excellent benefits, paid vacation, sick and personal leave and a pension.  This role is hybrid, with two remote days per week after the first month.

 

Job Summary

The Senior Recruitment and Selection Specialist is responsible for the executive search and selection of qualified central and school administrators, and for managing the Office of Talent’s marketing, social media, and event campaigns.

 

For executive search and hiring: builds and maintains a pool of highly-qualified executive-level candidates for key executive level central administrator and school administrator positions. Works closely with Chiefs, the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and Principals to understand the needs of our schools and central offices and coordinates hiring processes for pending and open roles. The Senior Specialist will consult on the District’s highest level searches, and will plan and execute the end to end hiring process across District stakeholders.

 

For Executive selection: manages the entire selection process for central office administrative and school administrator positions, including application review, performance tasks, coordinating selection days, draft selection materials (tasks, interview questions, rubrics), identify and training selectors, coordinating interview days, and directing a Recruitment and Selection Specialist to manage the logistics of selection days.

 

For Marketing, social media, and event campaign management: the Senior Recruitment and Selection specialist will serve as the District’s primary recruitment marketing and event coordinator. Develops social media, marketing, and event materials, strategies, and coordinates District-wide recruiting events on behalf of the Recruitment team.

 

For Systems and Project Management: serves as the primary project manager for all recruiting systems, particularly Taleo Applicant Tracking and website. Completes systems upgrades, serves as primary system administrator for reporting and configuration changes. Manages ongoing projects on behalf of the recruitment team related to District-wide reporting and systems management.

 

Essential Functions

  • Creates strategic and aggressive sourcing plans designed to identify & attract top-notch, diverse, and mission-aligned executive-level talent for dozens of high-level roles, school and central office administration.
  • Strategically networks within and beyond the District and uses a variety of resources to identify and cultivate high-potential candidates.
  • Manages communication with candidates at various stages of the process.
  • Develops and manages social media campaign to bolster recruitment efforts, expanding awareness and engagement around The School District of Philadelphia’s job opportunities and perpetuates a positive narrative about our schools, students and communities.
  • Creates and manages innovative marketing strategies, including print and web(site)-based promotional material, that will bolster recruitment efforts.
  • Creates and executes selection processes and materials involving multiple selectors and stakeholders to identify the best-fit candidates for executive administrative and school leadership roles.
  • Manages school leader selection process to develop talent pools for anticipated vacancies.
  • Leads the activities of Recruiters and Operations Trainees who support operations of executive search and school leader search and selection.
  • Supports Chiefs, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, and Principals to select qualified candidates from Talent Pool for pending and open Deputy Chief, Principal, Assistant Principal, and other roles.
  • Analyzes recruitment and hiring data to develop/modify marketing, recruitment, and hiring strategies.
  • Manages an efficient system for tracking candidates and applicants throughout the hiring process. Suggest necessary changes/updates to the process and implement if necessary.
  • Support and/or leads additional projects, as necessary, on an ongoing basis.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of full-time, paid, professional experience in human resources/assets, recruitment, and/or admissions/selection.

OR

  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.
