Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university.
- Ten years of full-time, paid, professional experience in the area of curriculum and instruction, five of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and have included responsibility for directing and coordinating program implementation through subordinates.
NOTE: An applicant who does not meet the minimum education or work experience requirements listed above may be considered if, at the sole discretion of the Talent Office, they have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicates potential for success in this role.
Certificates/Licenses
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate for K-12
OR
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certificate for Elementary AND Secondary Principal
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- current practices in school administration, budgeting, human relations, and community relations.
- the educational administrative process as it relates to school organization and management.
- contemporary teaching and learning strategies.
- decision-making, due process procedures, group dynamics, and workshop design.
- administrative policies, goals, and objectives.
Demonstrated ability to:
- effectively lead staff, students, parents, and other community partnerships.
- monitor and control operating expenses.
- implement the approved curriculum and instruction.
- interpret programs, policies, and directives to the community.
- commit to professional growth and make efforts to improve instructional outcomes.
- commit to students, staff, parents, community partners, and the educational program.
- use a personal computer.
- communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.
