Minimum Requirements
-
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
-
Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in education, three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and have involved conducting professional development to support teachers in improving instructional practices.
Certificates/Licenses
-
Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Administrative or Supervisory certificate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of:

providing professional development to experienced educators and supporting adult learning.
-
the principles, practices and methods of education to improve instructional practices.
-
supervisory methods and techniques.
-
supervising/coaching staff to set and obtain performance goals.
-
organizational development.
-
national and state regulations governing gifted compliance and programs.
-
curriculum and instructional models that meet the needs of high-ability/gifted learners.
-
social and emotional challenges faced by gifted and high ability learners.
-
service delivery components including: lessons to promote development of thinking processes, procedures to modify the regular curriculum, parallel curriculum and curriculum compacting.
-
integration of technology in teaching and learning process.
-
Demonstrated ability to:
-
develop and design staff development addressing the needs of gifted learners using best-practices, and assessment for gifted teachers, principals, and academic staff.
-
support all District staff to differentiate instructional strategies for gifted and high ability students.
-
guide all District staff as they collect, analyze, review and interpret highly technical information to support student achievement.
-
analyze student data to develop Gifted Individualized Education Plans.
-
use technology to access student assessment results for informing instruction.
-
write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions.
-
use a personal computer.
-
communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
-
establish and maintain effective working relationships.
