Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four years of full-time, paid professional experience working with children with behavioral and/or disciplinary issues in a school.
OR
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four years of full-time, paid professional experience working with children with behavioral and/or disciplinary issues in a school.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Theories and principles of student growth and development.
- The principles, practices and procedures of school climate systems and implementation.
- Techniques of supervision and the delegation of responsibility.
- Current social, educational, and economic issues as they relate to urban families.
- Knowledge of:
- Evidenced-based school climate strategies.
- Restorative and/or positive behavioral principles and practices.
- The development of an effective school climate structure and evaluation of services.
- Databased decision-making.
- Ability to:
- Assess, advise, direct and supervise the activities of personnel engaged in the provision of non-instructional services.
- Operate a personal computer.
- Express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Effectively supervise the implementation of the Student Code of Conduct.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
