Minimum Requirements
Environmental Management and Services Specialty
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in asbestos abatement, lead based paint removal, facilities or maintenance.
OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Environmental Management and Services Specialty
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- the principles, practices and theories involved in the monitoring and reporting processes.
- environmental laws and regulations governing the AHERA regulations and the City of Philadelphia Asbestos Control Regulations and Lead Based Paint Regulations.
- standard fiscal monitoring and management protocols.
- the departmental functions of the assigned office.
- accurate record keeping.
- the current uses and capabilities of personal computers and their software applications.
Demonstrated ability to:
- coordinate and oversee the work of staff and attain effective results.
- exercise sound judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures and in making decisions consistent with program policies and objectives.
- assist, advise and direct the activities of internal and contracted staff as it pertains to fiscal and environmental office management functions.
- interpret program policies and procedures to individuals and groups through conferences.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
Certificates/Licenses
Environmental Management and Services Specialty
- Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Management Planner License.
