Minimum Requirements

Environmental Management and Services Specialty

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in asbestos abatement, lead based paint removal, facilities or maintenance.

                                                                                     OR

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Environmental Management and Services Specialty

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • the principles, practices and theories involved in the monitoring and reporting processes.
  • environmental laws and regulations governing the AHERA regulations and the City of Philadelphia Asbestos Control Regulations and Lead Based Paint Regulations.
  • standard fiscal monitoring and management protocols.
  • the departmental functions of the assigned office.
  • accurate record keeping.
  • the current uses and capabilities of personal computers and their software applications.

 

  •  

Demonstrated ability to:

  • coordinate and oversee the work of staff and attain effective results.
  • exercise sound judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures and in making decisions consistent with program policies and objectives.
  • assist, advise and direct the activities of internal and contracted staff as it pertains to fiscal and environmental office management functions.
  • interpret program policies and procedures to individuals and groups through conferences.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • effectively communicate, both orally and in writing

Certificates/Licenses

 

Environmental Management and Services Specialty

  • Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Management Planner License.
