Job Summary
Involves the operation, routine maintenance and trouble-shooting of a variety of printing equipment such as high speed digital printers, digital commercial paper-cutter, commercial collator, commercial folder, mailroom equipment, digital envelope printer, commercial laminator and offset press. Duties will also include operation of a Macintosh or Windows based pc, working in various applications.
Essential Functions
• Operate digital high-speed color & black and white printers using software on pc.
• Operate Quadient Mach 6 envelope printer using software on pc.
• Operate Challenge champion 370 digital paper cutter.
• Operate MBO commercial paper folder.
• Operate Horizon VAc-100 Collator.
• Operate EAM-Mosca strapping equipment.
• Operate various offset printing presses.
• Interpret job ticket printing requirements in order to produce jobs to client’s specifications.
• Routinely inspect equipment functionality, check for supplies, paper stocks and updates.
• Assists in maintaining record of necessary supplies.
• Performs routine maintenance activities on equipment cleaning chargers, replacing toner, staples, ink cartridges, cleaning imaging areas, etc.
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years of full time, paid experience in the printing trade, operating duplicating or printing equipment and experience using a personal computer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated knowledge of:
o principles, practices, machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in the printing trade.
o printing practices and procedures.
o shipping & receiving.
o the operation of a variety of Print Shop equipment, with a minimum of collators, folders, stitches, cutters and drilling machines.
• Demonstrated ability to:
o operate, adjust, troubleshoot, repair and maintain printing equipment.
o use and operate a personal computer.
o comprehend, interpret and communicate detailed oral and written instructions.
