Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of full-time, paid, experience as a permanently appointed School Safety Officer or School Security Officer within the School District of Philadelphia.

OR

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • School District of Philadelphia regulations, policies, procedures and objectives.
  • principles of criminal investigative techniques used in the School District of Philadelphia.
  • the identification and preservation of physical evidence used by the School District of Philadelphia.

• • • Demonstrated ability to:
      • obtain facts and information by interrogation and interview.
      • analyze information objectively and make cogent decisions and recommendations for the disposition of cases.
      • observe and record details accurately.
      • communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
      • establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Certificate/License

Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania proper class license to operate a motor vehicle prior to appointment and during tenure of appointment.
