Minimum Requirements
-
Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university.
-
Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in education, three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and have included responsibility for designing, supporting and leading professional development, including direct facilitations, train-the trainer models, online, job-embedded and others.
Certificates/Licenses
• Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Administrative certificate for K-12 or Elementary and Secondary Principal
OR
• Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated knowledge of:
o Current trends, developments, and objectives of professional development. o Teacher development and skill assessment.
o Adult educational methodologies.
o External resources for professional development.
o Business, industry and community involvement in educational programs and public education.
• Demonstrated ability to:
o Plan, develop, conduct and oversee a comprehensive development delivery system for a large urban school district.
o Assess professional development needs.
o Review, select and adapt course materials for a variety of professional development sessions.
o Guide and channel resources, ideas and recommendations for problem resolution and program refinement.
○ Use a variety of technology.
○ Coach adult facilitators.
○ Establish and nurture long term relationships with partners.
o Plan and direct the activities of staff.
o Be passionate for educational equity.
o Make transformational change in a large urban school district to impact the experience of teaching.
o Work in a fast paced environment.
o Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
o Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
