Minimum Requirements

Grant Accounting Specialty

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience developing and implementing grant budgets, completing grant financial reports, and participating in the yearly financial close and grant close-outs, three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

                OR

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or accounting.
  • Nine years of full-time, paid, professional experience in grant accounting and financial reports, and participating in the yearly financial close and grant closeouts, three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • Active license as a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • budgeting and financial reporting concepts and principles.
  • federal and state laws, guidelines and regulations governing the management of grants.
  • the financial management and administration of federally funded programs.
  • supervisory methods and techniques.

Demonstrated ability to:

  • effectively problem-solve and mediate among parties.
  • plan, coordinate, implement, monitor, develop and assess program funding.
  • provide support and leadership in a variety of situations.
  • develop and sustain good interpersonal relations.
  • use a personal computer.
  • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
