Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in an academic discipline.
  • Five years of full-time, paid experience as an appointed, certified, pre-k, elementary or  secondary teacher in an urban school district which has involved providing professional development for adult learners.

Certificates/Licenses 

  • Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional certificate for the area of assignment - elementary certification required for K-8/middle schools and secondary certification required for high schools.
  • Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania administrative or supervisory certificate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • standards and current core curriculum.
  • integrated curriculum.
  • assessment – classroom-based and system wide.
  • the assigned subject area.
  • the full spectrum of differentiated instruction.
  • academic diagnostics in relation to effective learning environments and instruction.

Demonstrated ability to: 

  • interpret, understand and apply data.
  • provide support and coaching to teachers and principals.
  • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
