Job Summary

The Executive Director, Implementation and Progress Monitoring sets the vision and strategy for creating, implementing, and monitoring District-wide programs within all departments in the Office of Student Life. This role ensures budget alignment with federal, state, and local policies and maintains compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The Executive Director advises the Office of Student Life leadership team on strategic opportunities and leads the execution and progress monitoring of key initiatives through data analysis and stakeholder engagement. This role also involves coaching staff, identifying community partnerships, and expanding student access to innovative programs.

Essential Functions

  • Set and communicate a bold vision for developing and implementing progress monitoring tools and action planning frameworks to define goals, track outcomes, and drive equity-focused, data-driven improvement.

  • Supervise a cross-functional team, including Directors and Senior Project Managers.

  • Collaborate with team members to promote an enrichment- and opportunity-focused vision.

  • Develop comprehensive strategies for assessing the impact of strategic initiatives.

  • Serve as the District’s strategic leader and cross-functional coordinator for K–12 summer programming across more than 130 school sites.

  • Represent the District in public forums and coalition meetings related to summer programs.

  • Create integrated data systems and accountability structures to monitor progress, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate and lead the implementation of successful and sustainable District-wide programs.

  • Direct staff activities aligned with departmental and District goals for Student Life.

  • Assess and incorporate best practices and innovative models that enhance student experiences inside and outside the classroom.

  • Collaborate with other District departments to ensure seamless delivery of student programs and services.

  • Engage consistently and transparently with key stakeholders to support strategic initiatives.

  • Coordinate agendas, facilitate meetings, and ensure accountability through structured project planning.

  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, briefings, and issue responses for the Office.

  • Participate in the development of program budgets, leveraging federal, state, city, and District funding streams.

  • Monitor expenditures for accuracy and compliance.

  • Oversee the drafting of project proposals, goals, objectives, and budgets, and establish systems for tracking progress and continuous improvement

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in an educational organization or related field, including three years in an administrative or supervisory capacity with responsibility for implementing and monitoring strategic initiatives.

  • All relevant work experience must be included on the resume.
