Minimum Requirements •
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or a related field. • Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience supporting students with issues that affect positive behavior and has involved improving student behavior and the school climate.
OR • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or a related field. • One year of full-time, paid, professional experience supporting students with issues that affect positive behavior and has involved improving student behavior and the school climate.
OR • Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent which has involved school climate safety and support or school and community experience.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated knowledge of: ○ theories and principles of student growth and development. ○ current social, educational, and economic issues as they relate to urban families. ○ evidenced-based school climate strategies.
• Ability to: learn the Student Code of Conduct and all District policies and procedures. o organize and execute training and professional development forums. o interact with students, staff and families. o operate a personal computer. o express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing. o establish and maintain effective working relationships.
