Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of full-time, paid legal and related secretarial experience.
OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
○ the form and content of legal forms and documents.
○ legal terminology, spelling and basic legal research.
○ business English, arithmetic, punctuation and grammar.
○ standard office practices and procedures.
○ basic personal computer equipment and Microsoft Office functions.
○ confidentiality of attorney client communication and attorney work product.
○ excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to:
○ type from rough draft or clear copy.
○ independently prepare and assemble entire briefs and other legal documents.
○ secure and copy docket entries.
○ utilize case reports, opinions, decisions, docket entries and texts in copying pertinent material in the preparation of briefs and pleadings.
○ use a computer and software effectively.
○ perform moderately varied arithmetic computations and tabulations accurately with reasonable speed.
○ understand and carry out written and oral directions.
○ establish and maintain effective working relationships.
