Minimum Requirements:

•   Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade.

   •   Five years of experience operating or maintaining trucks or busses, or performing administrative duties related to their operation, maintenance and routing, three years of which has included transportation dispatching work, two which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of:

o   the principles and practices required for the efficient routing of automotive vehicles.

o   the methods and techniques used in scheduling, planning administrative procedures, and maintaining efficient records.

o   the norms, routines, and functions which govern the operation of a large transportation services. 

Demonstrated ability to:

o   plan and direct a large number of transportation routes for both personnel and cargo.

o   analyze and evaluate routing patterns for efficiency of operation.

o supervise divers and paraprofessional personnel.

o   utilize two-way radio and state-of-the-art communications and electronic equipment.

o establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates and subordinate staff.
