This is a full-time, 12-month role.  The salary grade is 4028. 

Job Summary

Equity Training Specialists design, align, and facilitate training opportunities for staff throughout the School District of Philadelphia (SDP). Work involves formulating and implementing plans to meet the short-term and long-term equity goals of the District. Work additionally involves determining training and personnel development needs on a learning network, school and departmental level. Equity Training Specialists are tasked with providing high-quality professional growth opportunities that will enhance cultural competency, communication, problem-solving, and outcomes-oriented skills.

Essential Functions

Equity Specialty

  • Supports the development and facilitation of a training portfolio, Districtwide, providing assistance to networks, schools, and departments in the development of training to meet assessed needs.
  • Supports project managers and program managers with session evaluations; provides individual and group coaching support to District staff. 
  • Thoughtfully creates training modules for District staff to support Districtwide equity initiatives.
  • Documents the training modules developed to aid in replication and sustaining the Equity work.
  • Prepares a variety of reports and documentation on equity initiatives and supports the Equity leadership team in developing a plan of action related to the data.
  • Acts as a liaison between schools, learning networks, departments and the Equity leadership team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university in training, education, administration or a related field.

  • Five years of full-time, paid, professional training experience which have included leading and designing training for adults.
  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:

    • the principles, practices and techniques of effective equity training facilitation.

    • a range of consultancy and coaching skills to understand and address equity issues.

    • the methods and techniques used in effective program planning, design and administration using appropriate processes and protocols.

  •  
    • the current educational issues that directly impact the implementation of equity initiatives and training.

 

  • Demonstrated ability to:

    • understand the equity strategies and initiatives.

    • exercise discretion and tact in dealing with sensitive situations.

    • maintain necessary records and files, compile information and prepare reports.

    • process multiple tasks simultaneously and adhere to timelines,

    • assess the effectiveness of programmatic activities and make recommendations for modifications as needed.

    • plan, develop and implement training sessions on equity.

    • evaluate effectiveness of training and implement changes as needed.

    • conduct research and analyze data to inform District, network and school supports.

    • gather, track, and use data to drive decision making and create detailed reports.

    • maintain records and prepare reports.

    • develop and facilitate presentations.

    • use a computer/laptop for daily work functions.

    • understand and follow oral or written directions.

    • effectively use Google Drive including documents, sheets, slides, and forms to develop and share content and presentations.

    • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

    • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
