Program Coordinator (School Safety)
Minimum Requirements
School Safety Specialty
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three years of full-time, paid professional experience has included coordinating and implementing programs, data collection and research and has included academic enrichment in a large urban district or overseeing components of administrative operations in a large organization.
OR
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social policy.
- One year of full-time, paid, professional experience which has included coordinating and implementing programs, data collection and research and has included academic enrichment in a large urban district or overseeing components of administrative operations in a large organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of the:
- administrative and budgetary practices and procedures.
- the current methods, processes and techniques utilized in the implementation of program initiatives.
- the methods used to develop contracts and manage external resources.
- Ability to:
- assess the effectiveness of programmatic activities and to make recommendations for modifications as needed.
- conduct research and analyze data.
- maintain records and prepare reports.
- develop and facilitate presentations.
- use a personal computer.
- communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.

- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- he methods, processes and techniques used in the development of evidenced based practices.
- methods and techniques utilized in effective program planning, design and administration.
- the functions of violence prevention and social welfare agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- prioritize and manage competing projects.
- manage projects and meet deadlines.
- maintain records, monitor program activities and prepare reports.
- provide technical support to project staff.
- identify and resolve problems related to programmatic activities.
- exercise sound judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures.
- use various office tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- record maintenance skills.
- communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.
