Program Coordinator, Nutrition Education and School Wellness Program
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from and accredited college or university in the field of nutrition or public health.
- Three years of full-time, paid, professional experience in the field of nutrition, school wellness, or public health which has involved developing and implementing programs and program management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- the principles and practices of nutrition education, school wellness and public health.
- the methods and procedures used in the assessment, planning, development, and monitoring of a nutrition education and school wellness program for school-age children.
- the current uses and capabilities of personal computers and their software applications.

- Ability to:
- prepare materials for programmatic activities.
- maintain accurate records and prepare reports using computer database systems.
- coordinate and oversee the work of staff and attain effective results.
- evaluate nutrition education and school wellness programs effectively.
- be a role model for positive healthy eating and physical activity behaviors.
- communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Certificates/Licenses.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutrition (RDN) certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registrations’ criteria.
- Possession of a proper class license valid to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to appointment and during tenure of appointment.
OR
- Eligibility for a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutrition (RDN) certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registrations’ criteria.
- Possession of a proper class license valid to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to appointment and during tenure of appointment.
OR
- Three years of full-time, paid nutrition education, school wellness, or public health experience in a school-based nutrition education program may be substituted for the Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
- Possession of a proper class license valid to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to appointment and during tenure of appointment.
