Minimum Requirements

Recruitment and Selection Specialty

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, strategic management or a related field.
  • Six years of full-time, paid, professional administrative experience in recruitment and selection in a large school district, governmental agency or corporation  which has included the acquisition of personnel for all levels of positions, at least three of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and directly accountable for the performance of multiple employees and has included extensive work with computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.

OR

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demostrated knowledge of:

  • office management practices, employee oversight methods and recordkeeping practices and procedures.
  • project management tools and spreadsheets and database applications.
  • supervisory methods and techniques.
  • the ADVANTAGEâ system  or other Human Resources information System applications which support human resources management.
  • the uses and capabilities of personal computers and their software applications.
  •  

Demonstrated ability to:

  • manage multiple projects and issues concurrently and to work collaboratively with others toward project completion.
  • prepare narrative and statistical reports.
  • monitor and control operating expenses.
  • direct and oversee subordinate supervisory and professional personnel.
  • ensure that problems are solved and that processes are efficient and effective.
  • ensure that the work of direct reports is effectively prioritized.
  • possess sound judgement.
  • exhibit discretion and confidentiality when dealing with personnel matters.
  • possess attention to detail.
  • develop and implement solutions to complex problems.
  • effectively communicate orally, in writing and at group presentations.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff on all levels.
