Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university.
  • Ten years of full-time, paid, professional experience in the area of curriculum and instruction, five of which have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity and have included responsibility for directing and coordinating program implementation through subordinates.
  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • curriculum development and implementation and instructional strategies related to curriculum, content and problem-solving.
    • the principles, practices and methods of education in K-12 pertaining to the specialty.
    • the methods, principles and practices of health, safety, nutrition and physical education programs.
    • governmental regulations which govern the conduct of interscholastic activities.
    • a variety of pedagogical modalities.
    • research related to the field of expertise.
    • the principles of educational administration.
    • supervisory methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • design and initiate innovative educational programs and practices.
    • oversee and review benchmark test content and design.
    • plan and administer strategies for effective system wide staff development.

    • monitor and control operating expenses.
    • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
