Minimum Requirements:
∙ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in energy management, science,  engineering, business, education or a related field. 
∙ Five years of full-time, paid, professional experience in energy or utility management,  environmental science or engineering which has involved developing and implementing the  energy management program; analyzing the infrastructure to implement effective energy and  sustainability practices as well as developing and managing energy conservation programs and energy budgets for a large school district or organization, at least two of which have been in a supervisory or lead capacity.  
∙ Must be a Professional Engineer (PE) or a Certified Energy Manager (CEM). 

NOTE:
An applicant who does not meet the minimum education or work experience  requirements listed above may be considered if, at the sole discretion of the Talent Office, they  have a unique combination of education and work experiences that indicates potential for  success in this role. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of: 
o energy management methods and techniques used in effective program planning, design  and administration. 
o energy efficiency principles. 
o computer-based energy management control and monitoring systems.
o energy codes and standards and local, state and federal environmental regulations.
o energy and sustainability best practices. 

o processes and procedures related to school districts or governmental entities.

Demonstrated ability to: 
o develop, implement and monitor the District’s energy management program.
o use various computer software such as Energy Management Software and Microsoft Suite. 

o analyze energy efficiency and make recommendations for modifications as needed.
o reduce utility consumption, verify utility rate structure, and identify renewable energy  opportunities throughout the District. 
o analyze organizational and procedural problems and make recommendations for  improvements. 
o communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 
o establish and maintain effective working relationships.
