Director, Strategic and Special Programs(High Impact Tutoring)

Job Summary
This is administrative and strategic work developing, managing, coordinating, and implementing special projects, programs, and activities. Participates in the assessment of operations in the assigned department. Work involves coordinating and ensuring the successful integration of strategies to continuously improve the quality and delivery of service to students, staff, and the community. Work additionally involves ensuring that special programs are achieving identified objectives in accordance with the goals of the division and the SDP Strategic Plan.
Essential Functions
-
Develops, implements and facilitates special projects, programs, and strategies in the assigned area; administers new and existing special programs and prepares reports on the status of programs.

Formulates and implements policies and procedures for the delivery of special programs and activities; ensures adherence to federal, state and local guidelines.

Assesses and monitors all phases of operations in the assigned area; develops responsive strategies and special programs to meet those needs; oversees the implementation of strategies and maintains frequent communication with administrators to resolve issues and impediments to the implementation of initiatives.

Develops standards by which to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and strategies; reviews and monitors the attainment of departmental goals in accordance with short and long-term plans.

Provides assistance to administrators in the development and implementation of strategies and special programs for targeted areas, which will affect the delivery of services; ensures that work plans are coordinated and that activities are executed in accordance with established timelines.

Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
-
Five years of full-time, paid, professional experience in special (or high impact) project management or business process reengineering, at least two of which have been in the supervisory or administrative capacity.
OR
-
Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which includes a Bachelor’s degree, as an educational minimum determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
