Minimum Requirements:

· Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university.

· Seven years of full-time, paid, professional experience in an urban educational setting which have included responsibility for planning, developing and implementing professional development programs for adult learners to improve the delivery of instructional services in alignment with organizational initiatives, three of which have been in school leadership.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·   Demonstrated Knowledge of:

o   core strands of operational leadership, instructional leadership, use of data to drive instruction, team building, building school culture, and family/community involvement.

o   adult learning theories, techniques, and coaching/mentoring models.

o   group processes, effective oral and written communication, and organizational planning.

o   the alignment of educational and training initiatives with the organization’s mission.

o   the effective use of technology in the delivery of professional development programs.

o   leadership pipeline theory, supervisory methods and managerial practices.

·  Demonstrated ability to:

o   design and coordinate leadership development programs which support the District’s principal competencies, instructional initiatives and administrative needs.

o   support adult learning and professional development strategies.

o   plan, organize, and direct leadership development activities and allocate staff resources to provide for aligned, efficient and effective programs.

o   think creatively about program design and delivery.

o   actively problem solve in a fast-paced, high stakes environment.

o   exhibit executive level judgment.

o   communicate effectively both orally, and in writing.

o   establish and maintain effective working relationships.
