Curriculum Development Specialist (Career and Technical Education)
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree program from an accredited college or university
- Five years of full-time, paid, professional experience as a regularly appointed teacher and has involved supporting teachers in improving instructional practices, participating in curriculum development and providing professional development
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Career and Technical Education
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- the theory and principles of child growth and development.
- theory and best practices in supporting language acquisition.
- research related to the field of expertise and the ability to apply this research to practical situations.

- Demonstrated ability to:
- relate the area of specialization in a relevant and intelligent manner to the instructional programs.
- use imagination in the utilization of materials and in the development of the curriculum.
- conduct research of varied programs and curriculum materials and methods for presenting new curricula in the classroom.
- design programs to improve educational achievement.
- manage and support the implementation of projects from start to completion.
- build partnerships with community organizations.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Certificates/Licenses
For the General Specialty
- Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional Level II or Vocational Level I or II teaching certification
