Bus Dispatcher
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of full-time, paid experience as a Bus Chauffeur or Truck Chauffeur.
- Bilingual or Multilingual experience, desired.
OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- the principles, methods and procedures governing the operation of school buses and trucks.
- the traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT and other relevant governmental and industrial standards and policies.
- the geography of the city and current traffic conditions.
- Geotagging technology.

- Demonstrated ability to:
- assign the work of a group of employees engaged in operating buses or other vehicles to ensure maximum coverage on the various transportation routes.
- maintain records and prepare reports.
- understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- analyze and evaluate routing patterns for efficiency of operation.
- utilize two-way radio and state-of-the-art communications and electronic equipment.
- work under pressure and handle a high work volume.
- use Geotagging technology.
