25-26 SY Teacher, Full-Time - Esol Program Specialist K-12, Itinerant Specialty
Job Summary
Provides English Language Development (ELD) instruction to students identified as English Learners (ELs). Provides leadership and consultation as the second language expert/specialist to all staff in a school. Evaluates students' progress; maintains student records, for the school and administrative offices. Collaborates with classroom and content teachers to assure the integration of language development strategies across the interdisciplinary curriculum. Conducts screening to identify English Learners and leads all compliance processes including identification, reclassification, and monitoring of former ELs. For itinerant ESL teaching positions, school assignments will change during the year and teachers must be able to adjust as directed by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- the modern methods, principles and practices of elementary, middle, and secondary education.
- the modern methods, principles and practices of English Language Arts and ESL
- the theory and principles of second language acquisition, child growth and development.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- constantly evaluate and update educational materials to meet the ever-changing needs of students.
- create a learning environment conducive to self-directed and cooperative learning.
- deliver and accurately score WIDA screener assessments (paper-pencil and online versions)
